By way of introduction — today’s Apple is not the same Apple as five years ago (it sounds obvious, but it’s worth pointing out).

Let’s not judge too harshly those who use this gear based on the questionable decisions of the modern “bitten apple.”

For me, the combo of iPhone + MacBook Pro/Air 13" + Magic Mouse 2 + Magic Keyboard 2 (funny names aside) simply means reliable work equipment. Despite countless app, browser, and system updates, the hardware stays stable. That’s the biggest advantage: no fragmentation, and therefore — consistency.

macOS

The system is rock solid, problem-free. It combines modern features with Unix roots. Support for multiple displays, advanced window management, and a native terminal where you can go full bash/zsh, install packages with brew just like on Linux — plus the fantastic iTerm2.

Some useful apps I recommend:

And the rest?

My phone usually stays in the bag — I can call and text directly from the MacBook. Battery life wins, and so do I ;-)

The mouse, with advanced gesture support (aided by MagicPrefs), makes browsing much faster. Navigating multiple windows and monitors is a breeze — just one swipe.

Of course, you need to get used to it, configure your own gesture bindings, etc. But honestly? It’s absolutely worth it.
