It began with configuring multiplayer game servers, followed by my first adventures in programming and web development (team websites, national news portals, league systems, and more).
Then came my first “serious” industry job, where I learned the ins and outs of telecom services (back when it was still TPSA) — both on the technical side (the technician with cables in hand) and the consulting side (“Have you tried turning it off and on again?”).
The most formative role for me was as a Linux Systems Administrator at LinuxPL.com (today: CyberFolks). I joined as one of the very first employees, when the company was still just a small office of a few square meters. From that tiny hosting shop grew a brand recognized across the country. I handled hosting, customer support, and explored what Linux could truly do.
Next came the SRE/SysOps/DevOps adventures at CyfrowaFoto.com (today: MPP). That role offered a full spectrum of experiences: managing dedicated and hosting servers, setting up developer environments, writing my own file synchronization tools, tinkering with Raspberry Pis on the production floor, occasional walks to the server room, and making sure the massive Xerox and Ricoh printers were happy.
Today, I support the team at Centuria.pl in maintaining both larger and smaller client stacks and in developing new projects. I also serve as Head of IT, advising the board and organizing the work of engineering teams. We work with cloud and on-prem environments — always tailoring solutions to fit.
In total, that’s now over 15 years of experience in system administration in the broadest sense, across many levels and touching many different technologies.
